TREATMENT FOR THOSE WHO

CAN'T TOLERATE CPAP

If you have been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea, chances are, your physician has recommended that you use a CPAP machine. These machines are amazing at resolving the issue of not getting enough air during sleep. They are considered the “GOLD STANDARD” for treating sleep apnea.

There are a few reasons that you might want an alternative.

  1. Currently, because of a recall on the most popular brand of CPAP machines, there’s a shortage.
  2. PAP machines are difficult to clean effectively
  3. CPAP machines require a mask to be worn that can sometimes be uncomfortable and be confining and/or restrictive during sleep.
  4. For people who make trips to the bathroom during the night, having to disconnect and reconnect the CPAP can be an inconvenience.
  5. CPAPs are portable but a bit cumbersome to take on short trips and vacations
  6. CPAPs require electricity or battery. Hence during a power outage or if a battery runs out, a CPAP will not function.
  7. CPAPs aren’t very sexy.

Oral Appliances can be an effective and comfortable substitute for CPAPs. Their advantages are:

  1. They are readily made and custom fit for comfort.
  2. They are simple to clean and maintain.
  3. NO MASK is required, just a ‘retainer-like’ device, similar to what most teenagers wear after getting their braces off.
  4. There’s no worry about having to take it off in the middle of the night for a bathroom run.
  5. These appliances are small, fit in a tiny case and are easily packed in an overnight bag for utmost portability and convenience.
  6. NO ELECTRICITY is required.
  7. While not totally sexy, oral appliances can be simply removed and replaced with minimal effort.
